Announcing the Center's Evening Book Club

The Center is introducing a new evening book club for those voracious readers among us who prefer to meet after hours!

The evening book club's inaugural meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

A Fond Farewell

In 2008, a bright-eyed new director arrived at the Center. At the time, he was told he had a big pair of shoes to fill. Four years later, Steve Parker, still bright-eyed as ever, has stepped down from his post at the Center to return to the commercial world, and he has left in his wake some awfully big shoes of his own.

Chamkar Serves Up a Scrumptious Vegetarian Spread for April’s Tastes of Taipei

A big thank you to Chamkar Restaurant for a delightful Tastes of Taipei event on April 25! Chef Nicolas Devaux served up a truly dazzling meal unlike any vegetarian cuisine that this Tastes of Taipei participant has consumed in Taipei. The meal kicked off with a plate of two appetizers: minty spring rolls with a peanut sauce and the restaurant’s signature “wedding day dip” (a delicious dip with mushrooms, peanuts, hints of coconut, and more --- a highly recommended choice) served with bread.

ECCT-ICRT International Charity Golf Cup Soggy but Successful

On April 27, 80 hardy golfers braved the wet weather to hit the greens at Tong Hwa Golf and Country Club for the ECCT-ICRT International Charity Golf Cup, and we are truly grateful that they did as the event raised an impressive $200,000NT for The Center.

The Center cordially invites you to save the date for The Center's 17th Annual Charity Auction Dinner on Friday, September 28, 2012 beginning at 6:30pm. This year The Center will be celebrating 25 years of service to the international community with a black tie auction dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The evening will feature gourmet food and wine, The Center's five star auction, and ample "silver jubilee" cheer. Tickets are NT$3,800 per person and will go on sale Monday, May 28.

May Special Topic Coffee Morning: Celebrating Dutch Culture

Join The Center for our May Special Topic Coffee Morning on Thursday, May 10th, 10:30am-12pm. This month the Dutch Ladies Association will host the event in honor of the Netherlands Liberation Day, which is May 5th. They will share with us their culture, history, and food and tell us about the activities of their group. Please come out and enjoy a great morning at The Center.

Community Event: Cinco de Mayo at the Mayan Grill

Join the Mayan Grill and Taiwanease.com for a Cinco de Mayo celebration on, of course, Saturday, May 5 beginning at 6pm. The evening will include an array of delicious Latin-inspired cuisine, great music, special guests from the Oficina de Enlace de México en Taipei, and general celebration of Hispanic culture. This is a family-friendly event, and there will be a special kids' set menu option. The cost for this evening is NT$600 (presale) or NT$700 (at the door) for adults and NT$450 for kids. There will also be Happy Hour pricing all night long.
