Once the tallest building in Taipei (between 1973-1981), the Grand Hotel serves as a majestic city landmark with its classical Chinese architecture and impressive rooftop. Built on the site of an old Japanese Shinto shrine, the hotel is nestled against Yangmingshan and overlooks the Keelung River, offering its guests impressive views of Taipei city. Over its long history, it has been host to many dignitaries and foreign visitors to Taiwan. Join the Center for a fascinating tour of the Grand Hotel and learn about its history, folklore and colorful past. This is also your chance to visit one of its infamous secret passageways (maybe not so secret anymore), which for many years were the object of much speculation.
