SUNDAY AT THE CENTER! Stories of Wanhua: A Historic Walking Tour

This event is currently full. However you can register now and get added to a waiting list. You will be notified if spaces become available.

Back by popular demand! Taipei was originally split into two settlements: Dadaocheng to the north, and Wanhua in the south. Wanhua is the less gentrified of the two and is a vibrant jumble of every era. On this tour we will visit one of the best preserved old streets in the city and some of the earliest temples. Meandering through the streets and little hidden alleyways, we'll also take in a lot of its less well-known sites and learn about the area's checkered and often insalubrious history. Tom, known for his amazing hand-drawn maps of Taiwan's cities and neighborhoods, has walked every inch of this area (and drawn it too) and he will use his extensive collection of maps, photos, and drawings to help bring the past to life. This tour was so popular that we decided to include it again this fall. Don't miss the chance to join Tom on this fascinating walking tour of Taipei's oldest neighborhood. .
