The night market is a culinary must-eat destination in Taiwan. The biggest challenge is: how to possibly enjoy all the delicious food in a single visit? Challenge solved! The vendors at Taipei’s historic Ningxia Night Market have teamed up to create the “Thousand Year Feast,” where guests can enjoy 20 different “small eats," each from a different stall. The menu rotates from one night to the next, but includes dishes like braised pork on rice, oyster omelet, fried rice vermicelli, drinks, and desserts. Each vendor has been in business for over 50 years; multiply that by 20 dishes and you have one thousand years of experience and deliciousness! Included is a walking tour of trendy Chifeng Street, historically known for its smithies, and more recently, a place to buy auto parts. Today, it is a hipster neighborhood filled with creative handicraft and food stores, interestingly juxtaposed against traditional auto parts stores. Feast included. Please note: special dietary restrictions cannot be accomodated on this tour.
