Start off your day by easing into a morning yin yoga class, in which poses are held for 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Each class consists of no more than seven to fifteen poses, mostly seated, on knees, or prone. From the comfort of your own home, Ivonne will offer modifications via Zoom to assist you in finding both effort and ease in asana (physical pose practice) as they unfold in passive, longer holds. Yin yoga focuses on connective tissue, which targets joints - ankles, knees, pelvis, sacrum, spine, and shoulders as well as the fascia that bundles muscles into groups and connects them to bone. Yin yoga is a gentle stress and release practice. In class, you can expect to practice asanas, pranayama (breath work) and a brief meditation. Prepare a mat, blocks, straps, blanket, water bottle and any other yoga accessory you need. All levels welcome. Instructions will be provided on how to join the online class.
Class meets on September 23, 30; October 7, 14, 21; November 4, 11, 18, 25; December 2, 9, 16. No class on October 28.
