The Lin Family Mansion and Garden, Tainan Wu Garden, Hsinchu Beiguo Garden and Wufeng Lin Family Mansion and Garden are collectively known as the Four Great Gardens of Taiwan. The Lin Family Mansion and Gardens, located in New Taipei City, dates back to the Qing Dynasty when the wealthy Lin family settled in the Banqiao area. Originally from China, the Lin Family made their fortune in salt and rice farming. The grounds are well-preserved and are considered one of Taiwan's best examples of a traditional Chinese garden. Architecturally, both the impressive three-court mansion and garden area (4.9 acres) are rich with elaborate carvings and nooks and crannies to explore. You shouldn't miss the chance to visit this impressive historic site. Entrance fees included.
