The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was established on the grounds of what was once one of Taipei's largest tobacco factories, originally established by the Japanese. Songshan Park is an urban oasis featuring the old factory's aged buildings, lush trees and one of the largest ponds in eastern Taipei (originally a fire preventative measure). It is a cool and comfortable spot to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our visit to the Park will take us through some interesting shops, galleries, exhibit areas and design studios. We will enjoy a special introduction to Not Just A Library, a fantastic space that was formerly the Songshan Bathhouse, plus a visit to an exhibition by the Red Oolong Tea Cooperative. Included in our visit to this exhibition will be a one-hour tea class and tasting to learn about this special type of red oolong tea, grown and produced only in Luye, Taitung. Entrance fees, tea tasting, and tea snacks are all included. Our tour ends at the Culture Park. You are encouraged to stay on afterwards to further explore, shop or eat dinner.
