Around in 1 in 4 women have pelvic floor dysfunction, mostly as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. These problems are rarely discussed so most women learn to live with issues such as pain, discomfort and incontinence. This talk is aimed at women who have given birth (at any time in life) and want to learn how to optimise their pelvic floor strength through exercise and increased awareness. It will focus on the basic anatomy and function of the muscles of the pelvic floor and provide advice and exercises to help strengthen the core, pelvic floor and lower back.
