Therapeutic Burn and Cool is a high energy yoga sequence that incorporates some breathing practice, flow, repetitive movements and resting in between each part of the sequence. We move into different body parts through this yin yang approach to yoga integrating body, mind and breath. Each week we will focus on a particular area of the body. Burning (yang) through repetitive movements in a posture brings muscle strength and toning while long rests (yin) cool down the impacted area afterwards. Burning and cooling, just like yin yang, are complementary and interdependent components of the whole. The aim is to bring strength, energy, rest and rejuvenation to our bodies, minds and spirits. Participants will need two foam blocks, straps, towels, a water bottle and a curious heart. All levels are welcome.
Class meets on April 19, 26; May 3, 10, 17, 24.
