Join Derek for a tour of the historic Confucius and Baoan Gong Temples, which were both originally built in the 1800s. Baoan Gong is a Taoist temple, dedicated to the god of medicine; it is a recipient of a UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for both its restoration and its revival of temple rites and festivities. The Confucius Temple, uniquely decorated with southern Fujian-style ceramics, serves as a center for Confucian study. Located just across the street from each other, these must-see temples make for an interesting study with their contrasting forms and functions. From there we'll return to Yuanshan MRT where you can return home or visit Maji Square to check out the arts and crafts and enjoy a light lunch.
