ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN ON AUGUST 7TH.
In this creative non-fiction workshop we will be exploring the idea of transplantation; how one grows in a different soil. Students will be encouraged to explore how identity is related to environment and share their stories of culture disparity or shock. Our goal will be to better understand our place in the world through the storytelling process and to share our unique perspectives on a different culture. Narrative essay, short story, and poetry are all welcome, though we recommend that students focus on one piece throughout this three-week workshop. Subject matter is also flexible. Perhaps the real story will take you by surprise--it's exciting when the writing hand has uncovered something from the subconscious.
Class dates: October 28 and November 4.
Instructor: Connie Kuo
