ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN ON AUGUST 7TH.
Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth originally used in ancient times. By employing techniques similar to origami, the art of furoshiki is an elegant and eco-friendly way to wrap gifts, carry groceries or almost anything—from books and boxes to bottles and plants. In this two-session class, Miyuki will teach you how to determine the correct fabric size for an item you wish to wrap; proper folding and knot tying techniques; what types of items work well with furoshiki; how to make a simple furoshiki carry bag; and how you can use furoshiki for traveling. Won't your holiday gifts look amazing after taking this class? A short list of items to bring from home will be provided. Cost of fabric and a genuine Japanese furoshiki included.
Class meets on December 2 and 9.
