Hiking the Jinmianshan Trail

Jinmian (Golden Face) Mountain, also known as Jiandao (Scissor) Mountain, is located in Taipei's Neihu District. The peak, resembling a pair of scissors, is 258 meters high and offers an amazing 360-degree view of Taipei City below. The trail is not difficult, but includes some stairs and dirt paths. The area is famous for British sandstone, used to build Taipei’s city wall in the late 19th century. In the sun, the stones shine like gold and it is these stones that give the mountain its name. The stones were also used to make the stairs of the trail, making the path look like a long dragon. Along the way we will stop at some pavilions to rest and enjoy some lovely views. We will come down the mountain through Bihu Park and end the hike at the Wende MRT Station. We recommend a reasonable level of fitness for this hike.  Wear shoes with a good grip; bring water, snacks and sun/rain protection.
