Gentle Yoga Session II

In this class, we will explore the role of the breath in calming our nervous systems and minds. Each session will begin with breathing techniques (pranayama) and a short meditation before we explore gently modified sun salutations and work our way from the ground up to balancing yoga poses. Poses (asana) will be linked together in gentle, fluid, and slow movements. The use of props and modifications will not only ensure proper alignment but also help build flexibility and stability. This soothing class is ideal for beginners of yoga as well as for those more advanced who would like to focus on the calming and restorative nature of the practice. Please bring a yoga mat, towel (or blanket), yoga blocks, a strap (if you have one) and water. All levels welcome.

Class dates: April 14, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19.
