Yangmingshuwu and Zhuzihu: Culture, History and Calla Lilies in Yangmingshan

Join Jennifer and Rosemary for a lovely day trip up to Yangmingshan National Park. We will begin our visit at Yangmingshuwu, the summer home of President and Madame Chiang Kai-Shek and used by them to receive foreign visitors and dignitaries. Formerly known as the Zhongxing Guesthouse and Chiang's largest villa, Yangmingshuwu is set on 37 acres of plum trees with a beautiful mountain landscape and includes courtyards, covered walkways and a goldfish pond. After our visit to this historic landmark we will make our way over to Zhuzihu, famous for its calla lily fields where you may view, buy, and sometimes pick these elegant and beautiful flowers. We will have lunch at a local restaurant that has its own lovely flower garden, making for some great photo opportunities. Entrance fee to Yangmingshuwu, lunch and transportation are included.
