Located in Neihu, at the base of Bailushan, Dahu Park is best known for its large scenic lake, famous Moon Bridge and picturesque, Chinese-style lake pavilion. This easy walk takes us to this lovely park where we can wander around and walk over the bridge for some very good photo shots. There is usually a lot of bird life in this area including ducks, egrets, magpies, etc. Beside the park is the Bailushan Trail. The first part of the trail is a series of switchbacks on a well laid out stone pathway with rails. It’s about a ten-minute walk up hill. This is the most challenging part of our morning but is easy enough for kids and non-hikers to manage. Once at the top, we will enjoy lovely views looking out over Dahu Park. We will follow the stone trail that will lead us through a bit of a forested area, past some small gardening plots and out near Huzhou MRT, where this short trip will end. This trip is good for adults, teens and children (8 and older, accompanied by their parents). Please note that this park is out on the Brown Line, which is a bit of a trek from Tianmu—but why not visit somewhere new if you’ve never been. Wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes; bring water, snacks and sun/rain/insect protection.
