Evening YouBike Ride: Xinpu to Bitan

Join Dory for a scenic sunset bike ride along some of Taipei’s lovely riverside trails. We begin this trip at the Xinpu MRT Station where we will rent our YouBikes and ride about 1km over to the riverside area. We will follow a bike trail along the Dahah Stream, passing some creative wall paintings along the way. As we ride towards Yonghe we will watch the sunset, stopping for a great photo op. We connect to the Xindian Stream at the Huajiang Bridge and then pass under the Huazhong Bridge. There is a small dinosaur park with 3D paintings on the wall and metal sculptures. It will be a good place to take a rest and have a snack. From there we continue on with our ride to Bitan, a popular resort area, to enjoy the beautiful views of the bridges, all alight. After we return our bikes you may choose to stay longer to enjoy the Bitan lake area or take the MRT from Xindian to return home. The ride is about 20km. Families are welcomed on this trip. (Please note that YouBikes come in one size, with an adjustable seat. Be sure that any child who comes on this trip is big enough to ride.) Please dress appropriately and bring water, snacks, insect repellent and your EasyCard. Helmets required. If you haven’t done so before, please be sure to register so that you may rent a YouBike. You may refer to one of these videos for more information:
