Yangmingshan Cultural Trip and Lunch: A Visit to Zhongshan Lou

Join the Center for an English-language tour of Zhongshan Lou, which was built in 1965-66 to commemorate the centennial of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's birth and served until 2005 as a convention site for the National Assembly of the ROC. Built over a sulphur springs area (imagine the feng shui!),this beautiful and impressive building, designed by a female architect, offers an interesting glimpse into Taiwan's political history and evolution to a democratic society. It is a gem, often missed, by many who live in or visit Taiwan as all public tours are in Chinese. After our tour we will head up to the Zhuzihu area of Yangmingshan for lunch at the beautiful Stone House Restaurant. Take a break from the city heat and join us for culture, history and good food. Includes transportation, entrance fee/ English-speaking guide, lunch and insurance.
